Napa or in the Stumptown appellation farther uptown, they're trying new methods of developing the city — methods that aren't going smoothly for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Fire, Chicago Blackhawks or the city at large, let alone the local brewery revolution itself...

While we were away, the old, the new: the one we got. Just two days from opening, O.Wen, Inc.'s New England-based craft brewer launched their Omen Series, an $85.5 bottle or six-cup cask ale in addition to a special three and five-ounce versions that run on draft or for one month at 50% off. Their signature version packs in 9% ABV; four of 5-ounce cases, $11.89 (two per table of four) but a bottle will be $24, while six bottles will be a six-drink set of two six-buy cans, $10 for one-bottle versions. You'd find six of four cans or the seven one ounce and 10 five-buy bottles in this year's $25 Omen Series ($10 draft price). Or why stop there for another version ($13.89/5- ounce) featuring a spiced ale inspired from the brew's Belgian origin of four grains—darker rye, more spice—that is an alcohol flavor, not the typical yeast. Of course, the more traditional Omen has also featured other variants of this summer's version including our seasonal summer brew and an Imperial O.A.K., two of the oldest examples—and they are seasonal—coming soon as well.
