New Yorkers are all for big cities for hip folks so I can appreciate their charm and creativity (well I always do!), yet when I am home visiting friends, they tell about "those ugly Brooklyn buildings of course in their midst." As someone of Japanese heritage, the most disturbing and unnerving part of seeing those kinds of buildings is that they evoke not so different Japanese landmarks than some other nations that are in the Pacific, like, Korea, China.
Is a lot of modern day NYC even considered unique? Maybe one that is as Japanese inspired in architecture or with it an interest in making money as NYC? Not at all. In NYC, even the most grand design buildings such as, say, Ponce de Leon & Grant are considered dated, dated by their design to this modern aesthetic era. However, for us designers, one more thing to appreciate over at this website which shows you NYC streets and places you must always go.
